    لَم تُسَخَّر لِصاحِبِ المِحرابِ

    God has subjected mounts for Al-Amin,

    Such as were not subjected even for the Master of the Sanctuary;

    So while his riding party travels upon the land,

    He travels upon the water, riding the lion of the thicket.

    A lion stretching out its forelegs as it gallops,

    With a gaping jaw and fangs bared in a grimace.

    He does not control it with a bridle, nor with a whip,

    Nor by the nudge of his leg in the stirrup.

    People marveled when they beheld it in the

    Form of a lion, passing by like the drifting clouds.

    كَيفَ لَو أَبصَروكَ فَوقَ العُقابِ

    They glorified God when they saw you journeying upon it;

    How then, had they seen you atop the Eagle?

    Possessed of a high chest, a beak, and two wings,

    Cleaving the swelling billows, wave after wave.

    It outstrips the birds of the sky, even when

    They are urged to speed in their coming and going.

    May God bless Al-Amin and grant him long life,

    And preserve for him the raiment of youth.

    A king whom all eulogies fall short of describing,

    A Hashemite, divinely guided to the right path.
