أَتاني عَنكِ سَبُّكِ لي فَسُبّي

أَلَيسَ جَرى بِفيكِ اِسمي فَحَسبي

News reached me that you reviled me, so revile on;

Is it not enough that my name passed your lips? That suffices me.

وَقولي ما بَدا لَكِ أَن تَقولي

فَما ذا كُلُّهُ إِلّا لِحُبّي

And say whatever it appears good for you to say,

For all of this stems from nothing but love.

قُصاراكِ الرُجوعُ إِلى وِصالي

فَما تَرجينَ مِن تَعذيبِ قَلبي

Your inevitable end is a return to my union,

So what do you hope to gain by the torment of my heart?

تَشابَهَتِ الظُنونُ عَلَيكِ عِندي

وَعِلمُ الغَيبِ فيها عِندَ رَبّي

My conjectures regarding you have become entangled,

And the knowledge of the unseen within them lies with my Lord.
