There is no hand among the people, not a single one,
Like the hand of which Abu al-Abbas is the master.
The trusted guards slept soundly upon their beds,
But he journeyed by night to my soul and revived it.
I had feared you once, but then I was granted safety
From fearing you, by your own fear of God.
For you pardoned me with the pardon of a powerful one,
To whom vengeance was lawful, yet he cast it aside.
