1. أَيا مَن كانَ لا تَنشَ

    بُ أَظفارُ الهَوى فيهِ

    O you, into whom had not yet sunk

    The tearing talons of desire,

  2. فَأَضحى سائِقُ الحُبِّ

    عَلى رِجلَيهِ يُسعيهِ

    Now the driver of Love has come

    To force you running on your feet.

  3. كَذا فِعلُ الَّذي اِشتَدَّ

    مِنَ الشَرِّ تَوَقّيهِ

    Such is the lot of one who strove

    To guard himself against the harm.
