O you whose face is the radiant moon,
And in whose garment lies the sun,
Whose mouth yields a nectar,
Which is wine, whenever you ask to drink.
O you who are the apple's fruit,
When no apples can be found.
Have I no share from you, O tyrant,
Except for bitterness and sighs?
And a glance whose arrows strike true,
Inflicting wounds upon the soul?
Has the time not come? Yes, it has arrived,
If only you would grant relief.
But you are a person,
Who makes a joke of what I loathe.
