Say to that radiant face
Say to this face, so fresh and fair,
And to that ample hip
And to this form, so soft and lush,
And to the lock of my worries
And to the bolt that bars my grief,
And to the key to my joys
And to the key of my delight,
He who is miserly with me
To him who plays the miser’s part,
With little of much
Withholding little from so much,
O little of age and death
O you, of young and tender age,
Born in the mind of the elder
Yet bearing an elder's mind within,
And little in meetings
So scarce in granting me a tryst,
And much in conscience
Yet ever dwelling in my soul,
Why did you get angry with your
Why have you raged against your slave,
Servant over trivial matters
Over a matter slight and small?
So be satisfied with me, by my life
Relent, I pray, by my own life,
O my life and my prince
O life of mine, my prince and lord.
