Tell the one with the gentle face
Say to the one with the delicate face,
And with the delicate beauty
And the refined beauty, exquisite and grace,
And the one who looks at me
And to the one who gazes with the eyes
With eyes of desire and passion
Of a dark-hued fawn, where soft magic lies,
And the one who calls me
And to the one whose beauty calls aside
To beauty along the bitter path
The passersby who on the roadway glide,
And the one who embraces me
And to the one who prances in his stride
Like an ancient fold
Like a noble steed, full of ancient pride,
Why did you get angry
Why have you turned your anger on your slave,
At your obedient, kind servant?
The tender servant, obedient and grave?
O criticizer, leave my drinking
O you who blame, refrain from scolding me
Of wine in peace
For drinking nectar, aged and flowing free,
He is like fragrant basil
An ancient wine, with fragrance in its breath
Like thick, pure musk
Like powdered musk that lingers unto death,
It's good for one with a split
It only suits the reckless, fatal knight
Who fell into debauchery
Who clothes himself in sin and wild delight,
He showed people openly
Who flaunts before the people what he does
What comes to him in distress and strain
In dire straits, heedless of what was,
And he appeared well-known amongst people
And stands among the crowds, a famous name,
Like one with a shaved head
Like one with shaven head, marked out by fame.
