I died from love-longing, though life still remained,
I have perished, save for the last breath of life,
For a gazelle-eyed beloved with a slender waist.
For love of a fawn with stark-black eyes, tender and young,
She reduced my appetite for food and drink;
With waist drawn in, yet swelling in fullness
Never has any waist that I embraced diminished.
Beneath the slender flank and the girded belt.
In her is a grace diffused
His grace is adored in every aspect,
Through her continuous and interrupted aspects.
Between features joined and features set apart.
No region of her stature is particularized
No single horizon of his stature is singled out
By any horizon above her ankles being preferred.
For preference over any other horizon;
So when she shows her beauties to me
And when he appears, his charms lead captive,
She forcibly draws the eyes' attention to herself.
By force, the very reins of gazing eyes.
