The bread of Al-Khasib is suspended from the star,
Guarded by every straightened spear and ridged blade.
He has made food forbidden to the famished,
As sustenance, yet made it lawful for those who hunger not.
So when they catch sight of a loaf, they thrill with joy,
Like the joy of the fasting for the sunset call to prayer.
