The sun and the resplendent moon go astray
The sun and the illuminating moon swell with pride
When we say you are like the prince
When we say to them, "You resemble the Prince."
If there is little resemblance to him
For even if they bear his likeness but a little,
There is much mistaken resemblance
A far greater resemblance has surely eluded them.
Because the sun sets when it becomes evening
For the sun must set when evening descends,
And the full moon wanes with its journey
And the full moon wanes as it traverses its course,
But Muhammad's light is always perfect
Yet the light of Muhammad is forever complete,
Illuminating the path clearly without deviating
Upon the clear path, it never diminishes.
