Seize your morn, rejoice my friend, and shun

Those who in passion have transgressed and sinned.

Cast off your censure, make each troubled soul smile,

Meet them with grace, wherever they have strayed.

Good cheer and plain living the wry joke has won,

And wholesome pleasures the lighthearted gained.

At hand to pour the wine for bright young friends,

No flaw or fault in them, their circle unbroken.

This one for that, as that one is for this,

Their band connected, their rope tightly braided.

Show them honor, and with a songstress' voice

Let song set the standard, the pattern for all.

Hayfa's song fills our ears, the lute makes us drunk,

Farewell to worry, the caravan's moving on.
