I have come to you from the grave
I have come to you returning from the grave,
While people are detained for the resurrection
While others wait confined for Judgment Day.
If it were not for Abu al-Abbas I would not have seen
Were it not for Abu al-Abbas, my eye
My eyes looking upon a son or kinsman
Would not have looked on children or on wealth.
God has clothed me through him with bounties
Through him, God robed me in such benefits,
Whose greatness has kept my hands busy with gratitude
Their weight preoccupied my hand of thanks.
I was taught by one who understands, understands well
I learned this from a sage of deep insight,
So I grasped them with ten fingers
And knotted it with all ten fingertips.
