With evil in your eyes, you disdained to bow down
A visible disgrace, you have bridled mankind like beasts, / In your consuming rage against them all.
In anger against them all
You went astray, though you once bowed in ancient times, / And parted ways with the flower of the worshippers.
You went astray when you refused to prostrate
When you declared, "I cannot bear to prostrate / Before a form You have created, Lord, from clay,"
And left the garden of the prostrated ones
Driven by envy—for you were shaped from smokeless fire— / Of him who was ordained the master of the worlds.
When you said you cannot bear to bow
You failed in noble leadership, striving now / To drag the adulterers and sodomites behind you.
To an image that the Lord of mud created
In envy, when you were created from fire
While he was the master of all worlds
Then you fell short in leadership, you who guides
The evildoers and those unrestrained
