Do not weep for ruins or shed tears on the hillocks,
Weep not for vanished traces, nor shed tears upon the ruins,
Do not bid farewell to lowlands or the hills.
And send no greeting to the valley of Khayf, nor to the peaks,
Delight yourself with what you will soon lose,
But grant the soul its pleasure in what it soon must lose,
In a little while, hasten, the hour is at hand.
All too soon—so hasten before the leap of fate.
