With charming glances and cheek
One with captivating glances and charming cheek,
Of perfect stature and form
Graceful in stature and proportioned form,
He said, while my eyes were fixed on his cheek
He spoke, while my eye was grazing upon his cheek,
Lost in the garden of eternity
Reveling in the Garden of Eternity.
Your glance adorns, I said. My tear then
He said, "Your glance is an adulterer." I replied, "Then my tears
Will chastise more than rebuke
Are flogging it far beyond the prescribed punishment."
He blushed until I almost could not see
Then he blushed, until I could almost no longer distinguish
His cheek for the abundance of roses
His cheek, for the sheer abundance of its roses.
