Do not think I despair of you, though I may seem despairing.
Do not deem me one who despairs of
Perhaps my beloved will do well even if he has done wrong.
you, even if you cause despair.
By the face of yours, which whoever sees it takes breath,
Perhaps the beloved will show
I will weather existence, my master, with hope and perchance.
kindness, though he has done wrong.
Ransomed with my father is your face,
for whoever sees it breathes freely.
I pass all of time, my master,
dwelling on 'if only' and 'perhaps'.
