Wake my companion Yusuf
Rouse my drinking companion, Yusuf,
To serve you wine in a pitcher
To serve you wine that sets the spirit trembling,
Fresh, bending over gracefully
A tender youth, swaying and slender-waisted,
My body melted, weak
Who has worn my body thin with lovesickness.
Like the crescent moon when the
He is like the blaze of the full moon when the
Month begins impartial
Month appears precisely at its half;
Until when the wine circulated
Until, when slumber began to circulate
In his eyes and he fell asleep
Within his eyes, and he drifted into sleep,
I kissed him ten times over
I kissed him ten times upon
Ten and ten more before
Ten, plus ten given in advance.
