Reproach me not if wine I crave

For only fools from wine abstain

Name not the wine if you deplore it

Lest you malign its beauty's name

Pour us the draught, cupbearers kind

Pure wine of grape, so rich and fine

When water joins its ruby tide

Pearls over pearls come forth, entwined
