I went out to frolic in the garden, forgetting you, but I did not frolic.
I sought the garden to beguile my thoughts of you, / But found no joy; the garden made a sport of me.
Rather, the garden began to frolic with me.
No flower appeared sweet unto my gazing eye / Unless it mimicked you in beauty or in scent.
No blossom met my eyes with its light
When breezes stirred the garden's fragrant breath, / Wafting its perfume toward me, carried and conveyed,
except to speak to me of your beauty or fragrance.
I lingered between a heart that knows no rest / And tears that spilled and poured in endless flow.
When its aromas stirred, its breezes
wafted from one who draws near its scent toward me and is drawn.
I lingered between a heart that knows no peace
and tears spilled and poured forth.
