Intoxicated am I, and who is he from whom I am safe?
I became intoxicated—and who is the one that remains safe from this?
I have confessed to the one I love what I used to conceal.
And I revealed to the one I love the secret I used to hide.
So I have become like one perplexed when I stay,
So I have become like the bewildered one where I stand,
Delighted with what was from me - or do I regret?
Should I be gladdened by what I did, or should I feel regret?
Oh, if only I knew, when I meet him,
Oh, would that I knew, when I meet him again,
Will I meet a happy man or one made happy, and so I know!
Will I find good fortune or felicity, so that I might know?
