O Hashim, take my consent even if
O Hashim, exact your satisfaction from me; though it weighs upon my soul, you are free of blame.
My consent comes at the cost of myself, I shall not be blamed
For I swear, my insults struck none but my own father and honor; I have torn nothing but my own skin.
I swear I never went beyond insulting my father
I was merely like one who exposes his own shame before the staring eyes of enemies and kin.
And my honor, and I never tore anything but my own garment
So I sought refuge in Hashim's protection and he sheltered me—a noble soul I deem above all others in nobility.
And I was only like one who exposed his flaw
Truly, a man who overlooks a blunder such as mine, though it wounded him, is the very essence of forbearance.
In full view of eyes of both friend and foe
He towers high above mankind, until it seems they behold in him a star leading the host of stars.
So I sought refuge in the sanctuary of Hashim
When lineages are distinguished by their bearers, he rests firm upon ancient glory and pure descent,
A generous one I see him above every generous one
Heir to every crowned and eloquent king, to whom the tributes of Amir and Tamim flow.
And indeed a man overlooks my like of slip
Even if in it a keen eye is hurt
He rises above people until it is as though
They see through him a star before stars
When lineages are distinguished one day by their people
I moor to a gentle, steadfast tribe
To every crowned one, said to be
To it I repair, of Aamir and Tamim
