O washer of my sins
O washer of the wine-cup,
For the monk's monastery
For the vintage brew, the potent liquor,
By the right of the house of fire
By the truth of the House of Fire,
And of religion and bells
And the faith, and the pact of protection,
And sanctity of palm trees
And the sanctity of the Nawbahar temple,
And solidness of rocks
And the dome of the Ziftar,
And honor of money
And the glory of the Dagnir,
And deception of lights
And the blaze of the lights,
And by the breaking of dawn
And by the breaking of the day,
And leaping of locusts
And the leap of the Karabkar,
In the hour of predawn
In the hour of the early dawns,
And by the shining stars
And by the glittering stars,
When they appear to the big ones
When they appear in the great heavens,
And its sun the great king
And their sun, the Sovereign King,
And its moon the bleary-eyed
And their moon, the Wish-Granter,
And the rotating festival
And the circling festival of Mihrajan,
For its frequent time
At its recurring time,
And the big stars
And the great festival of Nawruz,
And confinement of planets
And the enclosure of Kahbanar,
And banner of signs
And the Raysal of the Wahar,
And sanctity of the braided one
And the sanctity of Ayr Nashar,
With knotted belt
Who knots the sacred girdle,
From the empty farms
From the fields of Khawar,
When you accepted my apology
Won't you accept my apology
For my negligence and stumbling
For my lapse and my stumbling?
And your pillow of marble
And by your marble-smooth rump,
Rather who would prolong my thinking
Nay, by the one who prolongs my remembrance,
And my burning and suicide
And my burning passion and self-destruction,
In short nights
Over nights that were too short,
In which I sacrificed my reputation
In which I sacrificed my very undergarment,
Without any cover
With no outer robe to cover me,
My patience falls short of you
My patience for you wears thin,
O image of the golden coin
O image stamped upon the dinar,
In the palm of the money-changer
In the palm of the money-changer,
He wanted without the big ones
Which he desired over the large coins,
Yes, and above the small ones
Yes, and prized above the small.
