And the fair one enchants his eyes,
And a young gazelle whose eyes enchant,
His lower half pulls his upper half.
His lower half pulls upon his upper half,
His master looks upon his face -
His master gazes upon his face,
Would that I were an eye of my master!
Oh, how I wish I were an eye for his master!
I offered him my soul and heart, for I grew
I lent him my soul and my heart, for indeed
Weary of unfulfilled longing.
I have grown weary of demanding their return,
And if he saw me as unworthy in passion,
And were he to see me wretched in passion,
He would say to me "May God keep you far!"
He would say to me: "May God banish you."
