The dawn gleams with radiance
The radiance of the morning has broken forth,
So banish worries and take delight
So banish sorrow with a cup of wine.
I won't abandon pleasures
I shall never forsake the delights
That bring future regrets
Of drinking companions for the sake of piety.
Tell those who wish me well
Say to the one who seeks my redemption:
I sold my reason for madness
"I have traded my rectitude for vice."
A cunning hand clutched
Victorious is the hand of the cunning wit,
Selling virtue for vice
Who has sold righteousness in exchange for sin.
The sweetest pleasures come
The sweetest of pleasures are those taken
Openly, with no shame
Openly, in the face of scandal.
