If God has blessed people, the Lord of people has not
If God bestows His blessings on mankind, may the Lord of all creation bless not Salamah.
Blessed his peace
The light of day grows weary of the slander, while the monastery plays the sinner in the dark.
The light of day grows weary of slander
Men are exhausted by his wretched frame: a vulgar mouth and a lustful, gaping hole.
And the monastery is the iniquity of darkness
He brings calamity upon the broad-hipped youths he spots, riding a steed as pitch-black as the night.
So people in their long robes are in toil
Where did you leave—when they drove deep into your rear—your haughtiness and grandeur?
A vile mouth and an outrageous boy enslaves them
By God, were a lion taken in his hindquarters, he would never drag his quarry to the den.
He assaults the totally submissive; he sees them
On a horse as though it is darkness
So where did you leave in their backs
Arrogance and greatness when they stabbed you
By God if a lion attacked in its den
It would not drag prey to its lair
