I prepared a vicious dog for the hunt
I readied a savage hound for the chase,
When it went out ravenously it snarled
Who, setting out in hunger, blazes like fire,
It pulled at the leash and became ferocious
Straining at the tether, inflamed with zeal,
As if an evil spirit made it savage
As if a demon were spurring him on,
It startled the deer herds violently
He harries the herds of gazelle with crushing force,
Until you see them scattered fragments
Until you see them shatter into scattered bands,
It seizes from them each day a share
Claiming from their midst his daily prize,
Until you see their dwelling deserted
Until you see their lifeblood spilled and drawn.
