With beauty so fair, it has surpassed
And a marvel of beauty who has far
The dew's beauty, and made it smooth
Outstripped the young gazelle in grace and softness.
You'd think his cheeks were roses
You would deem the roses in his cheeks
Rivaling the jasmine's scent
Were whispering secrets to the jasmine.
The more I look upon him
The more I fixed my gaze upon his face,
The madder I become
The more I grew in madness and desire.
He kept pouring us wine
He kept on pouring us a vintage wine
For years on end
That stayed secluded, veiled for many years.
And we sang with skill
And we began to sing with skillful art:
Oh home of the yearning
"O dwelling places of the ones who left!
Quench our thirst until the time of Pilgrimage
So pour for us until the season of
Do not deprive the thirsty
The Pilgrimage; serve not the stingy one."
