لَقَد نافَسَني الدَهرُ

بِتَأخيري عَنِ الحَضَرَه

Time has begrudged me, delaying me from attending gatherings,

So I have not found of knowledge what I have found of regret.

فَما أَلقى مِنَ العِلَّ

ةِ ما أَلقى مِنَ الحَسرَه
