With my own hands I touched the brightest stars,
And said “Illuminate these darknesses.”
How can they deny my grace, envy my merit,
When lights have poured forth from my words?
Have you not heard prose like the fall of a roaring torrent,
And poetry like waves, ever undulating?
Say then, when the eagle soars on high:
“We know you, lofty in thought and essence.”
