Long has been your coyness, O beauty
How many chances arose, yet you did not allow
My longing for your charm sought worship and servitude
So I became torn between yearning and glad tidings
Indeed, I hope for what you made me aspire to
And promised me, while I aimed high
If you fulfil it, you would be the most generous of free women
Bestowing upon a free man what is not shameful
I am still excusing my love, and I am the one
Who did not waver from the position of the honorable
So trust what my heart expresses through my mouth
For I am the one addressing correctly and eloquently
And if I glanced at other than you for a moment
I was not but questioning to clarify
By God, how can I love other than you after
I saw the lights of the brightest forehead
You are the morning and others are the lamp in
My eyes and I will not succeed if I deny
Give me your hand and shake my hand mercifully
For hatred under the handshake gets wiped out
She said I am jealous over you so beware my jealousy
The fire in hell is not more blazing than it
Do you not know that I am the queen
If my lover's blood is not shed for me
She wept and placed her cheek on my chest
I was amazed how the cheek did not get wounded
As if it was pure silk that appeared
A rose on branches that did not yet open
And the tears in those eyelids like the dew
In a flower from its swaying branch
So I opened my heart like a precious casket
Containing jewels untouched and unthrown
To protect the jewel of her tear, and I say O
Diver, your pearl with me remains unprofited
