O flower branch in spring, so delicate
My generosity, with a mouth for lovers, so delicate
I yearn for union though my passion’s wasted
Melting from the excuses and evasion
Shall I restrain my hand from your clothes in modesty
When longing drives me to tear them off?
With you I have the trials of an ascetic monk
Whose habit the deceiver tugs in jest
If abstinence is your creed in love
I’d prefer the view of the heretic atheist
So grant me at least a little of the joy of union
And let me drink from the spring with a jug
