O harvester, cast off the rope and sickle
The sun has set and the veils of dusk descend
God has blessed you, O farmer, in your deeds
Say, when the bells' chant transports us
How great is the universe, O Lord, and how beautiful
Tranquility has settled on the forests and thickets
And the birds have returned to their nests and dens
And the soul yearns for dreams in the darkness
Return to the hut and sit among your children
And sleep free of sorrows and regret
If you only knew what I endure from time
And what terrors and trials I withstand
You would weep for one without refuge
Lebanon longs for me but fate holds me back
From returning, so my longing for my homeland
