بحمد الله وافتنا التهاني

وناجتنا بما نهوى الاماني

With God's praise we offer congratulations

And our desires have been fulfilled

تجَلَّت غمةُ الأحزان عنّا

وبتنا بعد خوفٍ في أمان

The gloom of sorrows has lifted from us

And we now feel safe after fear

بشائر كلما سُمِعت أجدَّت

لنا نغماتها طيبَ المثاني

Every time good news is heard

Its melodies delight us

وكنا قبل موردنا كأنّا

أُصبنا بالفؤاد وباللسانِ

Before this we felt

As if our hearts and tongues were tied

فعاد لنا رواءُ العيش غضّا

وأغنانا اليقينُ عن العيانِ

So the coolness of life has returned to us

And certainty has made evidence unnecessary

وهنأ بعضنا بعضاً ومِلنا

إِلى طُرف الفكاهة والأغاني

We have congratulated each other and inclined

Towards humor and songs

ولو أنصفتُ نفسي في هواها

واشواقٍ لها أبداً تعاني

And if I were to be fair to myself in my love for you

And the longing I always feel

لما واجهت بالبُشرى سواها

وحسبي من فلانٍ أو فلان

I would not have faced any but you with good news

And my sufficiency is from so and so

أنا المخصوص بالإشفاق وحدي

فكيف أخصُّ غيري بالتهاني

I am the one singled out for kindness

So how can I offer congratulations to others?

ومن عظُمت فضائلُه وتمّت

فواضلُه على قاصٍ ودان

He whose merits are great and his virtues perfect

Extending to both relative and stranger

خليقٌ أن تذوب له قلوب

تخاف عليه من رَيب الزمان

It is fitting that hearts melt for him

Fearing the caprices of time for him

أعزَّ الله عزَّ الدين دنيا

بشانِ عُلاك زاد عُلُوٌّ شان

May God honor the honor of the religion

Through your ascendancy ascendancy has increased

فكم لك موقفاً في الذبِّ عنه

يضيقَ الأمر فيه عن الطعان

You have taken so many courageous stands

When the situation was too narrow for critics

فما خَلق توخَى المجدَ إِلا

تَعلَّمَ من سجاياك الحِسان

None were created seeking glory

Except those who learned generosity from your nature

يُحصِّل من خلائقك المعالي

ويأخذُ من دقائقك المعاني

Deriving the heights from your character

And taking the meanings from your subtle aspects

ولو بذل الأنام الجهدَ كيما

يُصار لفضلك المحسود ثان

And if people made the effort so that

They could match your envied superiority

لما وجدوا لمجدك من قرينٍ

ولا وجدوا شبيهك في قِران

They would find no peer for your glory

And no parallel for you in any group

فلا زالت يداك على الليالي

وليس لها بسطوهما يدان

So your hands have never ceased night or day

To have their breadth of power

لِتؤمنَ من شذاها كل خاش

وتُطلقَ من يديها كل عان

To safeguard all those in fear

And release all those in pain
