خود رمت عن قوس حاجبها سها
م الجفن تسطو من ثغور غوان
She herself shot an arrow from her curved eyebrow,
From her eyelid overlooking the openings of beautiful maidens.
تحكي الأنامل من نقوش خضابها
روضا تضاحك من جنان جنان
Her fingers tell tales of the patterns of her henna,
A garden laughing from the heavens of heavens.
أضحى الجمال بها يخاطب نفسه
بعد التفرد في غنى الألحان
Beauty itself seems to speak to itself through her,
After excelling in the melody of melodies.
سبحان من أخفى المعاني بالمبا
ني تسترا لشقائق النعمان
Glory to Him who hid meanings in buildings
As a covering for the anemones of bliss.
عضت على العناب ظنا أنه
وجنات تيجان العقيق القان
She bit the grapes thinking they were
The gardens and crowns of red ruby.
هي غادة تختال في ديجورها
بين المنابر في سنا إنسان
She is a gazelle gliding in her necklaces
Among the pulpits in the age of mankind.
معنى الجمال ومهمه الحسن الذي
يبلي النهى بتماثل الغزلان
The meaning of beauty and its essence is the charm that
Wears out coyness with the symmetry of tender gazelles.
عين العيون وسدرة الحسن التي
أربت على الأفلاك بالأفنان
The eye of eyes and the lote tree of charm which
Grew tall over the heavens with branches.
عود الغواني بالمثاني في مبا
ني البان بين معالم الخيلان
The fresh simple basil in the buildings between
The signs of steeds in the abode.
سر غدا معنى الحروف كأنه
محمود أحمد عنصر الأعيان
The secret of tomorrow is the meaning of letters as if
It were Mahmoud Ahmad the essence of humanity.
ظل الشعاع وبرزخ الوصل الذي
أبلى العقول بمهمه التبيان
The shadow of light and the barrier of connection which
Exhausted minds with its important explanation.
معنى بدا بتماثل العبد المضا
فلهائه المقرو بالقرآن
A meaning appeared with the symmetry of the humble
slave known for reciting the Quran.
متلثم بعناصر التنزيه في
تشبيه أين جواهر البستان

متمنطق برقائق الإطلاق مل
تحف بسر لطائف الأكوان
Girded with the thin veils of absoluteness
Enveloping the secret of the subtleties of the worlds.
سر بدا في الكون أعجم حرفه
معناه دق عن الأديب الدان
A mystery appeared in the world, its letters foreign,
Its meaning too subtle for the adept scholar.
إن رمت ناسوتا وجدت مهامه
اللاهوت تنبو عن سنا الإمكان
If you sought her mortal self you would find her essence
Divinity hinting at the potential of existence.
تنبئك عن أحديّة التنزيه في
صبح التكاثر مستوى الرحمان
It tells you of the oneness of transcendence in
The dawn of multiplicity, the domain of the Merciful.
فتنت وسلت من غماد لحاظها
جفنا أذاب معالم الأشجان
She captivated and drew from the scabbard of her glances
An eyelid that melted the features of passions.
هي غادة تختال في ديجورها
تسطو على العشاق بالتيهان
She is a gazelle gliding in her necklaces,
Overlooking lovers with confusion.
يا من غدت تسبي بظل جمالها
مهلا فقد ذابت حشاشة فان
O you who became enamored by the shade of her beauty
Wait, for the passion of one who is doomed has melted.
يكفيه ما قد قاس من ألم النوا
ئب والشدائد من جنى الأجفان
It is enough what he has suffered from the pain of
Misfortunes and calamities from the harvest of eyelids.
كم ضاق ذرعا بالخطوب وقد غدا
متمنطقا بذوائب النيران
How narrow his chest became with worries, and he has
Become girded with the tails of fires.
أبلت حوادثها الزمان وما لها
عنه مناص مزجا بثوان
The days have worn out his calamities, and he has
No escape from them, mixed with fleeting moments.
فتكت جيوب الصبر فانفلقت قوا
ه المرسلات على القليب الفان
They tore the pockets of patience, so its
Strong ropes burst forth onto the frail heart.
ما بث شكوى للزمان فلا له
حكم على الرجحان والنقصان
He did not complain to fate, for it has
No rule over rise and fall.
أرجو لديك مآربا في النفس قد
نيطت ومنك الكشف دون توان
I hope for desires within you, that have been tied,
And you can reveal them without hesitation.
حبي وكأسي والرضاب وراحنا
في غيهب الأكمام والقيعان
My love, my wine cup, my tambourine, and together
We were lost in the darkness of sleeves and plains.
منه يغار البدر عند تمامه
والشمس منه تحار في الدوران
The full moon is jealous of its perfection,
And the sun is perplexed by its revolution.
ما ذاك إلا أن حسن بهائه
أربى على الغزلان والأكوان
That is only because the splendor of its beauty
Grew taller than the tender gazelles and the worlds.
ما إن له في الكون من شبه ولا
في الدير من كفء ولا من ثان
It has no equal in the world, nor
A match in the monastery, nor a second.
روض العقول إذا دنت تختال في
حلل الطواسم في جواهر بان
The garden of minds, when it draws near gliding
In the garments of beauty in the essence of creation.
كم بت أرشف ظلمه تحت الغسق
والخال مسك من جنى التجيان
How often its darkness kept me up at night
And the shadow was musk from the harvest of the chaste.
فاخلع ثيابك واطرح تدنو إلى
وادي المقدس عن دجى الحدثان
So take off your clothes and get close to the
Valley of the sacred away from the darkness of events.
تلقى جمال الحق يلمع من هيو
لاه على التجريد والتبيان
You will find the beauty of Truth shining from
His revelation, in abstraction and explanation.
وتدور بين معالم الغزلان في
ديجور وصل سوالف الفتان
And wander between the features of gazelles
In the necklace of connection, the tales of temptations.
وتروح نحو كواعب تسطو على
العشاق بالتيهان في الأجفان
And go towards charming gazelles overlooking
Lovers with confusion upon the eyelids.
تلقاك غيد الحسن ثغر وصالها
أشهى من الصهباء في الكيزان
You will meet the antelope of beauty, her mouth of union
More delicious than fenugreek in the scales.
وألذ من نقر الفتاة على الكثي
بِ البيض نحو مراسم الأوطان
And sweeter than the tapping of a girl on dried yogurt
Towards the rituals of homelands.
فاشرب على الصوت القديم زجا
جة الوجنات من أحدية الكتبان
So drink to the ancient sound the juice
Of cheeks from the uniqueness of the two entities.
قد ناولت كفى بطل شعاعها
كأسا تضاحك عن ثغور غوان
She handed my palm with the rising of her ray
A cup laughing from the mouths of beautiful maidens.
فرأيت معنى جمالها في الكأس من
دون البراقع والحسان حسان
So I saw the meaning of her beauty in the cup
Without veils or beauty, just beauty.
يا ليت رشف أقاحها أضحى
سيمر الوجد في الأدواج والأفنان
I wish a sip of it became the passing
Fervor in cycles and temptations.
