أقمت بدار كي أصون حقائق

الكنوز فلا تبدو يواقيت مطلبي

كأني مرآة له وهو قد غدا

لنا مرآة يحكي مسامتة القلب

As if I am a mirror for him and he has become

A mirror that tells the intimacy of the heart

وأني على الأوكار أصطاد خاطبا

على الدهر من بلبالي عنقاء مغرب

And I on the dens hunt down a lover

On time from my nightingales, a setting sun of the west

وإن كانت العنقاء ممنعة أهي

م في مهمه الترحال نجدا إلى يثرب

إلى أن أرى منها المسمى بمجمع

البحار ويدنو إلى الزلال من الجب

Until I see the one called the meeting place

فأرمي عصا التسيار من شغفي بها

وأكتمها حشو الفؤاد من الصب

So I throw the staff of travel from my passion for it

And I conceal its love inside my heart

ولست أبالي بعد ذلك أكانت ال

أماني لنا أو كان جرب على جرب

And after that I do not care whether

فسورة حبي فيه تحملني على المها

لك كي تسبي كرب على كرب

So the chapter of my love in it carries me to take

سوى أن سر التشريعات قد حما

ة فاستكتم الأسار قلبا على قلب

Except that the secret of the laws has protected

هوت روحه ما كنا نهوى فقد بدا

التآخي وكنا حيث كان على القرب
