عرج على باب الغريب ونادى

وانشد فديتك أين حل فؤادي

He stopped at the stranger's door and called out,

وإذا مررت على المنازل بالحمى

فاشرح هنالك لوعتي وسهادي

And if you pass by the dwellings in Al-Hamma,

Unburden there my anguish and my vigil.

إيه فديتك يا شيمة خبري

كيف الأحبة والحمى والوادي

Oh for your sake, what news of my loved ones,

Of Al-Hamma, its valley and dwellings?

يا سعد قد بان العذيب وبانه

فانزل فديتك قد بدا إسعادي

O Sa'd, the oryx has appeared, so has our joy.

So alight, for your sake, as my bliss starts!

خذ في البشارة مهجتي يوما إذا

بان العذيب وبان حسن سعادي

Take as good tidings my love when the oryx appears,

And the signs of joy and bliss start.

قد صح عيدي يوم أبصر حسنها

وكذا الهلال علامة الأعياد

My holiday has truly come the day I see her beauty,

Like the crescent moon, harbinger of feasts.
