تلألأ وجه الدهر واتصلت عر

اه وانقشعت سحب بطالعة الغبرا

The face of time glowed bright, the clouds parted

And the dust cleared at dawn’s first light

تضاحك ثغر الأقحوان فاضحك

أزاهر وانجابت محول عن الغبرا

The flowers smiled, flashing their petals

Blooming after the dust’s dark night

تضاحك ثغر الأقحوان وأعلنت

مباسمه أن الوجود له البشرى

The flowers smiled, their lips proclaimed

Good tidings - existence was blessed again

تناسبت الأزهار من حيث أوكفت

جداولها الخضرا وقد عمت البرا

The streams matched the meadows’ green spree

Water flowed, blanketing the plain

فأبدل حال الأرض واخضل ربعها

وأشرقت الأرجاء من أفق الخضرا

The land's face was transformed, its quarters turned green

Horizons shone bright with nature’s sheen

وأوكف منها الدمع فابتسمت ربا

الأراضين بالأنوار يا له من مجرى

Tears ceased flowing, smiles lit up the earth

With streams of light - such a lovely scene!

ولولا ابتسام الخال ضعضعت الورى

وغير وهم الكون أفظع به أمرا

Without the smile of the Most High chaos would reign

And illusion would plague the world with its bane

كذاك بقاع الجسم مجدبة وقد

أحاطت با الأغيار تجتالها قهرا

Like barren stretches of earth besieged

By storms that thrash them, imposing their reign

تجاذبها الأطراف تهوي بها إلى

مكان سحيق يجتذبها الهوى قعرا

Forces pull them down into the abyss

Where desire drags them into its darkness

فعاقتها عن مرمى اللذاذات أجمعا

وثبطها عن مرتع اللذة الكبرى

Denying them the pleasures they seek

Hindering them from joys at their peak

تنزلها من أوج بحر معارف

إلى حضيض الأوهام تستغلق الفكرا

Lowering them from wisdom's summit

To the valley of fantasies, clouding thoughts

فتنغلق الكوات منه فلا يطق

وثوبا بأوج الروح يستنشق العطرا

So faculties close, unable to see

The spirit's garment perfumed indeed

فيمكثه مزكوما بين قواطع

عن الله يغشاه الظلام ولا يدري

Thus it remains, shrouded in the veil

Of existence, not knowing what's real

منافح لو شمت لأنست لذائذ ال

وجود وما تاقت لعاصمتي كسرا

If I could scent the pleasures true

Of being, I wouldn't pine for my home dear

يصير بها أغنى البرية ظافرا

بكنز إله العرش ينفضه جهرا

There I'd gain riches, win the treasure

Of the Lord of the Throne - a boon and pleasure

ويعلم مكنون العلوم وينجلي

لدينا الخفايا الشاردات لها يغرى

I'd know the hidden, mysteries clarify

Perplexities dispersing, my thoughts I'd unfetter

ويعلم أسرار الشريعة فاتقا

لرتق ظنون أخلدت بالنوى طرا

I'd comprehend Sharia's secrets, rise high

Above opinions, my spirit would flutter

ويشرب من عين الحياة التي غدت

مطوقة بالشرع نضاخة تشرى

I'd drink from the fount of eternal life

Guarded by Sharia, its nectar a flutter

ولكن نور الفكر قفص قد غدت

كثائف هذا الجسم تحجبه قسرى

But the light of thought is trapped

In this body's density, held by its fetter

ألا إن نور الكشف ليس به خفا

فزج رياض النور تمتطه جهر

Know that the light of revelation bears no opacity

Scatter its meadows, break thought's fetter!

ألا يا إلهي أغمر مواد جسومنا

بنور عظيم منك يمنحنا السرا

O my God, fill my bodily substances

With Your magnificent light, make me its debtor

ويلقمنا ثدي المعارف بل يدي

م غوصا لنا بالبحر نلتقط الدرا

Feed me knowledge's milk, take me by the hand

Let me glean the sea's pearls - its evaluator

ونعرف سر الله في الخلق لا يغي

ب عنا شهود الحق في الدنى والأخرى

Let me know God's secret in creation, deprive me not

Of beholding Truth in this life and the next

منانيك يا رحمن لا يحتجن ريا

ض مجد لنا أعصار كرتي الأخرى

Shower me with Your bounty, I need no kingdom's estate

To shield my being from harm, O Most Affectionate!

دخلنا حمى الفضال يحمي لقاحنا

عن الفتك يا حنان يسرنا لليسرى

Admit me into Your sanctuary, Protect my being from evil

O Most Merciful, make things easy, guide us to the good

حناني حناني جبار الأرض والسما

ألوذ بك اللهم صنا من الضرا

My refuge, my refuge, Lord of earth and sky

I seek refuge in You O God, shield me from woes

أغوث أغوث يا إلهي وناصري

وأهتف أين رباه كلبك في العسرى

Help me, help me my God, my victorious defender

I cry out, where is my Lord in hardship and danger?

إلهي إلهي أنت أنت لخائف

أمان ففك القيد عنا مع الأسرى

My God, my God You are my protection when afraid

Free me from bondage, join me with the enslaved

ولا تسلمني للحوادث إنني

أسيف فلا أستطيع ولا أستطيع صبرا

Do not leave me to the winds of fate, I am weak

Helpless am I, patience I cannot muster

وحللنا بالألطاف يا حيفظ فإن

ك الله ذو الألطاف تصطنع الشكرا

Unfetter me with Your grace, O All-Seeing Sustainer

You are Most Gracious, inspire me with thanks

شكرت شكرت يا شكور فإنني

شكور على الأفضال استمنح السرا

I thank, I thank You, O Most Appreciative One

For I am thankful for Your boons, bless me with more

وصل على قطب الدوائر منشئا ال

كمال الذي صافيته ليلة الإسرى

Send blessings upon the Pole of all spheres

Purified on the night of ascension, forevermore

هو الغوث والغياث إن قحط الورى

ينادوا أيا روح الوجود ألا قرى

He is help and salvation, when drought plagues the world

They call upon the Spirit of Existence, haloed and pearled

فيسجد للرحمن يسمع قل يكن

وسل تعطه نورى لك الدولة

So they bow down before the Most Merciful, hearing "Be!"

You are given My light, sovereignty is your world

شفيعا شفيعا أنت أنت لها وقد

تداعت بنا الأحوال أبدت لنا تترى

You are the Intercessor, the Intercessor for creation

When situations tumble, reveal their destination

تقلد أبا الزهراء سيفك قد طمت

أهاويل في الأكوان غوثا أبا الزهرا

Arm Abu Al-Zahra with Your sword, for chaos roams

In realms - give us aid O Father of the Radiant Nation!

عليها سلام الله ملء سماوات

وأرض وأغصان لهم رتب غرا

Upon them is Allah's peace, filling the heavens

And earth and branches - for them ranks made even
