أتاني كتابُكَ ياسيِّدي

وذُخري الأعزُّ من الفارِيَابِ

Your letter came to me, my master

My most precious treasure over the Euphrates

وكانَ لأعشار قلبي بهِ

وحقِّ ودادِكَ ألفا رِيابِ

And it gladdened the tenths of my heart

By the right of your affection, a thousand tents
