لا تُنكِرَنَّ إذا أَهدَيْتُ نحوَكَ مِن

علومِكَ الغُرَّ أو آدابِك النُّتَفا

Do not reproach me if I offer back to you something of

your radiant learning, or scattered fragments of your literary arts.

فَقَيِّمُ الباغِ قد يُهدي لمالِكِه

برَسمِ خِدمَتِهِ من باغِهِ التُّحَفا

For the keeper of a garden may present its owner

as a token of his service, with choice gifts from the owner’s garden.
