للنَّاس فيما يَطلبونَ وَسائلٌ

للنَّاس فيما يَطلبونَ وَسائلٌ

شتَّى فُمكْدٍ مِنهُمُ أو مُنجِحُ

شتَّى فُمكْدٍ مِنهُمُ أو مُنجِحُ

People have means for attaining what they seek—

diverse indeed: among them, some fail while others succeed.

ووَسائلي أدَبي وأنتَ بنَانُهُ

ووَسائلي أدَبي وأنتَ بنَانُهُ

فبِأَىِّ زَنْدٍ بعدَكُمْ أَستَقِدحُ

فبِأَىِّ زَنْدٍ بعدَكُمْ أَستَقِدحُ

My means are my literary art, and you are its fingertips;

so from what fire-stick, after you, shall I strike a spark?
