أتاني كِتابٌ مِن أخٍ لي ماجدٍ

فأكرِمْ بهِ بَين المَواهبِ وافِدا

A letter came to me from a brother of mine, Majed

So honor it among the gifts that come as a visitor

وقلْتُ لرُوحي كُنْ لهُ مِن جَميع ما

يخافُ منَ الأيَامِ أو يَختشي فِدا

And I said to my soul, be for him all that

He fears from the days or is wary of as ransom
