Say to the one who forbade the giving of generosity
And made deprivation permissible in the most extreme way
Hardship has touched me, and it has untied
What knot of patience had remained tied
So now grant me what I seek
If you intend to grant me anything
How long will your answer be “no,” whenever
I hope for your kindness postponed
