O you who fault the ink and pens, nothing

The flint of your words has struck but lies and slander

Were it not for pens and scrolls, erased

Would be mankind's traces of knowledge and literature

Is their lifeblood, extracted without toil

Verily, the pens and scrolls are the noblest things

By which is raised high honor and rank
