سامٍ على نَسلِ سامٍ بالجَمال لهُ

بالخالِ خالٌ وفي عَمّانَ عَمّانِ

Descendant of Sam, beautiful in his lineage,

With a mole, moley, and in Amman, an Ammanite,

كأنَّه اغتاظَ من بُعدي فأوعَدني

أنِّي إذا جئتُ من أرْجَانَ أرْجاني

As if he was angry at my distance and so promised me

That if I came from Arjan, he'd make me his Arjanite
