A brother of mine, noble of soul, origin, and nature

Who takes the place of my eyes and hearing

I clung to him when I tested his brotherhood

In my low and high states of vicissitudes and comfort

With more edifying counsel than reason

More intimate than passion, more gentle than nature, more beneficial than law
