أبو حَسَن عليلٌ ذو خِداعٍ

وأنتَ معَ الخِداعِ لَهُ وَلِيفُ

Abu Hasan is sickly, full of guile

And you are his confidant in his deceit

فظاهِرُ ثَوبهِ بَرقٌ وَليفٌ

وباطِنُ ثَوبهِ شَوكٌ وَليفُ

The surface of his garment is smooth satin

But the inside of his garment is thorns and tatters
