أقرَبُ النّاسِ بالكرامِ بعيدٌ

ولِقاءُ الكِرامِ جَدُّ سَعيدُ

The kindest people are far from kindness

And meeting the kind is truly joyful

ولقد صُمتُ عن لقائكَ أُسبو

عاً وبعدَ الصِّيامِ فِطْرٌ وَعِيدُ

I've been silent from seeing you for weeks

After fasting comes celebration and feast

فتحَشَّمْ فدَتْكَ نَفسي فَوعْدُ الدَّه

ر إنْ أنتَ لم تَزُرْني وَعيدُ

So pledge yourself my soul if you don't visit me during the feast

And if you're settled against me, I'm aligned with

وإذا كنتَ لي قَعيداً فإنِّي

للنُّجومِ المُدَبِّراتِ قَعيدُ
