1. يا ناظِرَ العَينِ قُلْ هَلْ ناظِرٌىعَيْني

    إليكَ يَوْماً وهَلْ تدنُو خُطى البَيْن

    O watcher of the eye, say, does an eye of mine

    Gaze upon you one day? And do the steps of separation draw near?

  2. اللهُ يعلَمُ أنِّي بعدَ فُرقَتِهِمْ

    كطائرٍ سَلَبُوهُ من جَناحَيْنِ

    God knows that after their separation

    I am like a bird robbed of two wings

  3. لوِ استَطَعْتُ ركِبْتُ الرِّيحِ نحوَهُمُ

    لأنَّ بُعْدِيَ عَنهُمْ قد جنى حَْيني

    If I were able, I would ride the wind towards them

    For my distance from them has ruined my serenity
