By my father, brothers with whom I journeyed

And so I journeyed from joy and companionship

They left me so they saddened me and ignited

The flames of passion in the thoughts of my soul

They say, “If only you had stayed with us and kept us company”

Alas! Where are those people to me or of my kind?

How can my company be a kinship when separation

Lies between them and me like the separation of jinn from mankind

And the status of companionship in which their companionship lies

While my seriousness makes me lonely and lacking their companionship
