Your longing reached me from the land of Iraq

    Bearing gifts and supplies

How can life be sweet after the company

Of those with whom I was among the deputies

Tribes from far and near gathered

So they are all devoted to the Family of Rabie

The caravan travelers pass by praising them

Upon it many virtues are loaded

To you Abu Al-Abbas have yearned its people

With songs and tongues and minds

You are the forehead of the kingdom, rather you are its hearing

You are the tongue of the kingdom when you speak

And the kingdom has scales, your hands its beam

Moving with kindness wherever it moves
